Der Blick auf den Hafen ein Traum... Im Innenraum roch es sehr stark nach Reinigungsmittel mit Chlor.

I phoned the day before for reservations. My friend was moving off coast and this was supposed to be a special dinner. Our food arrived cold, my meal the chicken.....puréed sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes swimming in a gravy that resulted in a cream soup texture, with a limp, cold bok choi and chicken sitting in the middle of this mess. My friend ordered halibut which also arrived cold. We ate our meal, waitress asked if we wanted dessert, which we declined. We were just discussing ordering a coffe before driving home when the waitress came up and told us the manager wanted us to leave as there were other people coming. We were appalled, we were seated on the deck but the whole dining room was empty. It was extremely rude and embarrassing. We had driven a long way to have what we had expected to be a great dining experience. I could have forgiven the poor food quality, but to be treated so rudely and asked to leave as soon as we finished eating was too much. I have never experienced this lack of hospitality before.

Food was ok, overpriced and I made a reservation month s ago and when we got there they had no record of booking. The waitress had horrible English, had a hard time understanding her. Would not recommend this place, way too expensive for what you get.

We stumbled upon the Painted boat by accident. We were celebrating a very special anniversary and had just finished a 3h hike. Famished, we ordered three appies, two drinks and seafood dishes. We enjoyed mussels, Spot prawns, scallop, halibut.an ethreal salad. The seared bread was a perfect complement to the seafood sauces.I was astonished at how little salt was used, I often request low salt and did not need to in this case.the dishes were bursting with flavours from reductions, subtle hints of lemongrass,, spices. The service was friendly, attentive, and the view sublime. During our dinner, two eagles flew by to dine on salmon. We finished with the perfect chocolate mousse, not too sweet, and equal to one I had in Paris...not drowned in sugar.Steven Doucet, the chef, is serious about flavours. He allows his fresh ingredients to speak for themselves, not relying on salt or sugar. We will be back to savour his work again.
